Protection of Children Against Sexual Exploitation Act (1977) Name Institution Introduction     I intend to explore an act known as Protection of Children Against Sexual Exploitation Act (1977). This act will be covered in the context of what led to its approval. The aspects which the administrators embedded in the law will also be explored. Finally, how the act connects with democracy, social equity and justice will be delved into. Historical Background (1950s-1970s)     Administrators observed child pornography as child abuse. However, there were no legislations to prevent child pornography (Donnelly, 1978). In this regard, many children were enticed to engage in child pornography. Producers and distributors embraced this business since it was profitable. Historical Background (1977)  The administrators were motivated to produce new laws as a result of the weaknesses of the initial laws.  The Protection of Children Against Sexual Exploitation Act represents one of the laws which was approved in 1977.  This law prevented guardians or parents from allowing their children to participate in pornography(Donnelly, 1978)..  It also imposed fines on producers and distributors involved in child pornography.
