Personality and Behavior 2
Personality
Personality refers to the differences in one’s behavior, thinking and feeling. Also,
personality can be defined as one's behavior, motivation feeling, and cognition which influence
individual characteristics at certain situations. Different people have different set of
characteristics that can influence behavior (Jones et al., 2011). For example, if someone is
aggressive then you expect him/her to be argumentative or confrontational. This does not mean
he/she will be argumentative at all times but in most he/she will be.
Personality and behavior
Personality does not always predict someone’s behavior; this is because there are many
variations in both personality and behavior, which affect both one's personality and behavior in
different perspectives. For example, a man can be I need of a child and turn out not a good
father. Personality is determined by one's mode of living and his /her manner of relation. But
one's behavior is how he/she conducts himself/herself on different matters and different activities
on issues about life (Kaiser et al., 2011).
People with different personalities behave differently, in the case of work; some
personality traits are not suited for certain job positions. One’s personality may lead to different
reactions which may have a negative impact on the job or performance.
Personality can affect one's behavior this is whereby you find a shy person no able to
express his/ her views in public but a generous person can be able to speak in front of a huge
crowd of people. It is also proven that not all people are consistent on the way they display their
personality. This means that we have people whose behavior may not consistent from day to day
