THE BIOPSYCHOLOGICAL FRAMEWORK 2
The biopsychological framework takes critical initiatives in explaining the existence of
recurring issues in human development by primarily analyzing the primary forces in human
development. The biopsychological framework helps understand these basic forces in the overall
process of human development that are responsible for recurring issues such as nature vs.
nurture, continuity vs. discontinuity, as well as universal vs. context-specific. According to the
biopsychological framework, in human development, there are four basic forces and these
include biological forces and entail all genetic as well factors that are in a way related to health
that have had an impact in human development, hence, occurrence of recurring issues (Payne et
al., 2004). Psychological forces is also another essential aspect of biopsychological framework in
its attempt to understand human development in relation to recurring issues that sums up the
personality factors, cognitive and emotional factors, as well as internal perceptual that have a
significant influence on human development.
According to the biopsychological framework, the socio-cultural factors that deal with
cultural factors, ethnic factors, interpersonal and societal factors also significantly affect human
development and their influence will determine whether or not an individual develops recurring
issues. The biopsychosocial framework is also an integral part of the biopsychological
framework and points out on the interactive nature of all the primary forces and their inability to
explain human development in isolation (Payne et al., 2004). According to the biopsychological
framework, the interrelation of these basic forces that are relevant in human development helps
determine whether or not an individual develops recurring issues.
