Environmental legislation can be described to be an essential collection of regulations and
functional laws which are concerned with the quality of water, quality of air, endangered
wildlife, the rough country, among other environmental aspects (Wathern, 2013). The scope of
environmental covers different varieties of regulations and laws but are geared towards realizing
a common goal which is to continuously monitor the interactional relationship between human
beings and nature hence ensuring that threats to environment are mitigated accordingly.
Content of the legislation
Basically this legislation comprises of regulatory policies, mandates as well as purposes that are
expected to be achieved in an appropriate methodology that practitioners who operate in the
environment employ. NEPA has been identified over the years to be an appropriate charter
which guarantee the protection of the surroundings by ensuring that the available federal
agencies are considerate of their impacts on the environment by their actions and systematic
ways of accomplishing missions; it adherently integrate, interpret, regulate and implement
necessary environmental requirements to interested parties (Dunlap, 2014).
Process of passing the legislation
In order for this environmental Act to be ascended to into law, it had to pass through different
levels where it was reviewed and adjusted accordingly by the legislatures and officials who were
involved.
Drafting the Act in the Senate; at this stage, the legislation was presented to the Senate by
Senator Henry Jackson. He regarded the bill to be a paper work that was meant to provide ample
