Project Name: Laundry Venture

Aim of Project & Related Issues

The major emphasis of this problem is to force students to think about tasks and activities to

apply a formal chronological process in logical manners. This will help them to recognize the

concepts like successor and predecessor activities. The major issue in this problem is to

design such project having proper sequential order and provide the rationale for selected

tasks. The above subjected project should contain following tasks from start to end:

Project Tasks

1. Ensure empty status of washing machines

2. Assure quality of softener and detergent

3. Carry dirty laundry basket to washing area

4. Segregate clothes by color

5. Pick washing cycle and initiate filling-up the washing machine

6. Add softener and detergent and put color clothes inside washing machine

7. Remove the clothes when cycle ends and put them in dryer machine

Above tasks are the highly significant in order carryout entire project and each task

has its own relative importance. There are few inconsequential tasks that should be carried

like room checking for picking towels and loose dirty clothes from the washroom and also

removing bedcovers and bedclothes. The entire project has been designed in sequential order

to complete the assignment.

This problem will be resolved using Beta distribution for probabilistic estimation using

following formula:

TE = (a + 4m + b)/6

In above formula:

TE = Estimated time for activity

a = Optimistic Estimate

m = Most likely Estimates

b = Pessimistic Estimate

Putting Values in Estimation Formula:

TE = [(5 + 4(8) + 14]/6 = 51/5 = 10.2 Days
