Introduction
What would you do today if you found yourself with a million dollars that was unexpected?
Most people would immediately embark on a spending frenzy. The feeling of being rich is a very
important feeling to many people. That is why this essay aims at justifying why Mrs. Sommers
went on a spending spree after she came into possession of fifteen unexpected dollars.
Mrs. Sommers never did anything for herself. It is not that she was selfless, but she just
did not have enough to spend on her kids and herself. Some of the neighbors felt pity for her
noting that she used to have some money before she got married. The story shows that Mrs.
Sommers liked to takes care of her kids and in most cases, she spent everything she had on them.
Spending the money on herself was therefore not an act of selfishness.

Mrs. Sommers wanted to enjoy a change of life from what she was used to everyday. From the
story, we can learn that she used to live a poor life. A change from this life even for a day would
