Importance of Business Continuity and Business Impact Analysis
Business success requires proper planning, anticipating hazards, and implementing
mitigation measures. Managers in competitive businesses recognize that risks are
unavoidable and that for company objectives realization, potential vulnerabilities and dangers
must be evaluated in expectancy of crises. Business continuity planning is the act of
identifying these vulnerabilities and threats and devising a strategy for mitigating them
(Hersyah & Derisma, 2018). This approach lets corporations respond rapidly and efficiently
to unforeseeable catastrophes such as natural disasters, fires, worldwide pandemics, and
cyber assaults. The Business Impact Analysis (BIA) comes in helpful since it examines
essential business operations and forecasts the repercussions of a disruption in one of those
activities. It also enables a corporation to acquire data necessary for developing recovery
measures and mitigating possible damage. Another critical method is disaster recovery plans

(RTO) in the event of a disaster. Businesses may continue to operate effectively under these
three models even in the face of catastrophic calamities as long as they are well-planned,
implemented, and managed.

roles (Lozada-Contreras et al., 2021). The HR department, for instance, could prepare escape
plans for employees, assist with staff welfare schemes like healthcare insurance or annual
