data collection methods and other research components, such as the problem, purpose,

research questions, and design. Then, reflecting on the course content, discuss the extent to

which your newly acquired research knowledge and skills can support your role as an

agent of positive social change. Be specific and provide an example(s).

The best criteria for determining whether the data collection tools used are effective and

whether or not they align with the rest of research components is to carry out the following

analysis. First the researcher should conduct a frame survey on the target population using any

information that is available in relation to the target population. The next step is to conduct a

pilot survey on the target population to determine whether the method of data collection in place

fully represents the target population and also exhausts the question under study. Alternative data

collection strategies are also identified to be used in case the current method proves ineffective.

Based on the functionality of the method of data collection in the field, the researcher can

determine whether the particular method synchronizes with other element of the study and

whether it is operational in collecting actual data in the field. The field experience with the given

method of data collection will help determine its effectiveness. The agreement of data collected

with other elements of study helps determine efficiency of the given method of data collection.

The data generated from the study provides very critical information regarding the target

population. The outcome and summary of the research provide essential insights on the target

population under study. This data can be very beneficial to me in implementing appropriate

changes in the community based on the generated results. The data gathered shows areas of

concern in the target population. I can use this data to determine the necessary adjustments that

in accordance to the data collected. The results generated produce major areas of concern, the
