i. WHAT DOES CLOUD COMPUTING MEAN TO YOU?
The term Cloud Computing basically means processing and sharing resources through the
internet. Cloud refers to the internet and computing means processing of data. Therefore
the phrase cloud computing means internet based computing.
According to Vangie Beal(2016), Cloud computing involves sharing of computing
resources such as servers, applications and storages rather than using local servers or
personal devices for handling applications. It is comparable to grid computing in that,
unused processing cycles of computers in a certain network causes no harm in solving
problems that are too intensive for any stand-alone machine.
ii. WHAT ARE SOME POSSIBLE MAINTENANCE AND SUPPORT RELATED
IMPLICATIONS OF CLOUD COMPUTING, IN THE CONTEXT OF
SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT, OR OTHERWISE?
Cloud computing have provided many advantages to some though others see it as just an
improvement of an already extant. Chris Dean (2016) adds that, cloud computing allows
businesses to reduce the need to maintain the overheads of dedicated computing facilities.
Susie Dixon(2016) argues that, Maintenance and support of cloud computing comes after
on considers all the factors required for fitting an application to the cloud, for example
performance, purpose of the application and memory required. After considering the
factors its when you know find out the possible implications for the maintenance. They

Computer Power
Most Cloud Computing vendors are unable to provide the unlimited power they promise
to their customers due to slim margins which reads them to computing power within their
datacenters on just-in-time bases. Vendors are unable to meet the high customer demand
due to lack of capital budget provision to commission for bring datacenters which will
meet customers need in time.
Memory
Within the vendors computing infrastructure there is physical limitation in the amount of
Ram accessible to particular set of processors whose facilities are shared by more other
customers. This results to Computing applications whose memory is intensive and not
best suited in migration into the Cloud.
Storage
Though many Vendors of Cloud Computing promise unlimited and instantly-available
storage, access speed still remain to be limited by your internet connection. It is therefore
clear that the major thing to consider is bandwidth when one is using applications that
requires a lot of data. Although some companies’ offers service for uploading data
through portable discs shipped directly to their systems, this still results to data
insecurity.
