Art Class – Performance Critique
The performance was a trombone ensemble in the arrangement, and the stage coloring
and lighting came out perfect. The use of musical instruments indicated a sense of jazz music to
be expected from the team of participants. The stage setting was made well to avoid the view of
the audience that makes the whole concert great fun. Therefore, the stage would have been
captured to indicate the number of people viewing and listening to the jazz music produced by
the group but the planners failed to include the essential element in the scene.
The composition of voices and manner of arrangement at the stage gives an appealing
sense of feeling where anyone with or without music knowledge can see the organization. The
set of six members in the presentation were lacking consistency and uniformity. Such was
experienced and the mistake covered by proceeding without stopping the action (McCaleb,
2017). Under such cases, a good and well-trained group should turn stop and start again to offer
the best quality of music. The stage standard for a high school setting was perfectly organized
but the manner lightings were set could have included some from the floor upward.
It feels nice to have a look at the stage due to the nice choices of colors but what matters
is the outcome of the performance. The voices could miss some rhythm along the way but gets
cleared by proceeding activities. The participants sharing a screen to read the lyrics encountered
challenges of missing out on the consistency of following lines as indicated due to raising of
heads and looking down to the screen. More rehearsals need to be done so that all can memorize
the songs presented.
