DISASTER RECOVERY PLAN 2
Introduction
A disaster recovery plan acronym (DRP) is a documented strategical approach that
includes the instructions that outline the response aid to any unplanned disastrous incidents both
human based as well as natural occurrences. A disaster recovery plan sets the precautions needed
to minimize the unavoidable effects caused by a disastrous incident thus allowing a country or an
organization to recover to its normal operations. A disaster recovery plan in the corporate word
includes an analysis through the continuity of needs as well as the business procedures to
identify the impact of the risks caused by a disaster as well as establishing a recovery point
objective (RPO) and a recovery time objective (RTO). This paper analyzes the disaster recovery
plan of a company in United Kingdom - NEP Broadcasting Company.
Analysis
NEP Visions had their broadcasting equipment and office spaces consumed in a fire.
With such a loss, NEP had to recommence to their work and so they had to find an alternative
space and equipment to continue with their business operations. They found refuge at the Ascot
racecourse for the replaced media trucks while they found new residence in V3 as their new
premises (Jonathan 2016).
NEP could have succumbed to the fire as an organization had they not erected a strong
disaster recovery plan that worked to counter for any physical damages of their physical assets as
well as guaranteeing that they have a business process continuity plan that protected their
systems as well as their business data (Jonathan 2016).
