ARGUMENTATIVE RESEARCH 2
Introduction
“Prevention is always better than cure,” so they said. But is it the case in this contemporary
world? The world we live in is one which is filled with a lot of controversies and among them is
the type of vaccines and immunizations that people and especially the most vulnerable members
of the society are being given.
Women and kids, who form the group mentioned above, have been the centre of debates and this
has all been because of the fact that some vaccines they are subjected to, have long-term
implications and many of which will be discussed in the later stages of this paper. This is,
therefore, a paper that will aim to shed light on how safe vaccines are and while at it, it will aim
to narrow down on all the related optics about the same in a conclusive manner.
Time and again, there have been calls from various humanitarian groups to have the vaccines
given to some mothers and their kids stopped and the accusation has always been the fact that the
vaccines contain components that may affect the health of the victims in future and hence long-
term effects (Graff, Birkenstein & Durst, 2009).
The truth in this has always been a debatable point, but nonetheless, it still underlines the
argument that some vaccines could not be what they are made to appear as and on the contrary,
be harmful.
This has pushed scientists to come forth and test all the vaccines being given to the people they
are bound to and in some instances, these fears have been true. This therefore goes a very long
way to underlining the argument this paper runs on, and that is the fact that these vaccines may
not be there to prevent disasters in terms of diseases but rather be the very route f the problems
they hold inside.
