DEVELOPMENT OF NURSING STANDARDS OF PRACTICE 2
The process for the development of nursing standards of practice in my state begins with
the assessment standard. The associated entities in the stage include the nurses. The nurses focus
on collecting useful information about the patients' health condition. The second standard of
diagnosis includes the assessment of data provided to help to realize the existing issues with the
patient (Harper, & Maloney, 2016). The incorporation of individuals like scientists in the
diagnosis process contributes to the appropriate recognition of any existing issues with the
patients’ health. Outcome identification represents the third standard in the process of developing
nursing standards of practice. The nurses identify any existing or potential solutions of the
patients' health condition.
Planning regarding proper medication and a prescription include both the nurses and the
doctors. The development of an effective plan regarding patient’s recovery helps to accomplish
effective health outcomes (Masters, 2018). The implementation standards include prescriptive
consultation power and appropriate coordination of care. The implementation stage heavily
involves the nurse in offering appropriate therapy, treatment, and procedures following the state's
laws and regulations regarding health care.
The evaluation standard represents the final process involved in the development of the
nursing standard of practice. The evaluation process might take more than a single assessment.
Therefore, the involvement of the nurse in the recovery process of the patient also receives
increased attention (Masters, 2018). The mentioned standard of practice influence the nursing
practice in various ways. First, nurses adapt to consistent observations of the rules of the nursing
practice through the incorporation of the process for the development of standards of practice.
Also, nurses learn how to develop work relationships with other divisions in the medical sector
like scientist and doctors who both aim at improving health care for all patients.
