Research has it that there are many advantages through the use of queuing theory in as far as the
M/M/1 Queueing Model highlighted in this project above is concerned (Krishnamurthy 1). As
discussed in sections two and three above, we have seen that the major problem with the
MacDonald is a large number of customers which sometimes out-limits the waiters and the
waitresses who are serving them. Therefore, using the M/M/1 Queueing Model, which is
convenient for the company as explained before, helps in becoming the major solution to the
problem.
Write implications of the solutions. Explain how your solutions will provide a balance between
cost minimization and service quality.
The model will help in determining the type and number of service facilities that need to
be provided to different customers. This way, through probability theory, each customer
can conveniently and timely get the type of service they want. This will reduce and save
the time that could have been wasted serving the customers meals that they do not like.
This will reduce the time and the food that could have been wasted. Serving more
customers as well means increased profits and hence reduced costs through reduced
wastage.
Timeliness, assessments, inefficiencies, and tracking are all possible through the use of
the M/M/1 Queueing Model. This way, the type of food which the customers like buying
most and that which brings more profit will be made sure their quality is always at its
best. Those workers who do their best in ensuring that they make more profit for the
company by ensuring that they do not waste any food unnecessarily will be promoted so
as to ensure their working morale. All these will help in increasing customer base as well
as quality if service delivery and at the same time reduction in costs due to the reduction
is wastages and increased profit margins.

and specify in what manner the organization would benefit.
The type of community organization that would benefit from the M/M/1 Queueing
Model is a community bank. An example of this is the Bank of America Corporation.
Through this model, the bank will be able to determine the requirements like the type
and number of facilities required by the customer. This will be done through
assessments and tracking processes provided by the model. This will bring about
prioritization which will in turn help in the provision of timely services by reducing
the waiting requests.
Explain clearly how this model would be applied to other regions or countries.
In other regions or countries, the M/M/1 Queueing Model would be applied depending on
the types of the major organizations and companies present in them. For example,
production systems will always focus on the sequencing, scheduling, and planning of
components and parts in the assembly line. Mass production companies, on the other
hand, will always focus on machine performance and workstations scheduling for various
operations (Lee 1). Therefore, application of this model will always depend on the types
major organizations.
SECTION 7: CONCLUSION
In a nutshell, MacDonald is one of the most successful companies in the world. Quality service
delivery due to a large number of customers has however been the major problem. However,
through the use of M/M/1 Queueing Model, the company can be able to minimize costs and
increase service quality as explained in section six above. The company needs to emulate and
adopt the same.
