QUALITIES OF A PROJECT
Qualities of a project
1. What suggestions do you have for preventing scope creep in projects?
To prevent scope creep in projects, a person undertaking that particular project should ensure
he or she is vigilant from day one. The project manager is supposed to handle scope creep
and either accept or decline new requests at the shortest time possible as they come in. The
technique will enable the person to remain focus on his or her undertaking (Subramani,
Sarkunam & Jayalakshmi, 2014). A better understanding of client’s needs by the project
manager enables him or her to prevent scope creep in his or her undertakings. A person
undertaking the project should have a better understanding of the necessities needed for a
successful project completion thereby, enabling him or her prevent scope creep in his or her
activity.
2. Why is it difficult to find good examples of WBSs? If you do find a
Good example from a similar project, why can’t you just adopt it “as
Is” in a new project?
Work breakdown structure (WBS) varies among individuals due to various factors like; detail
level of work package which varies depending on one’s client expectations. When choosing
how detailed or specific the work package should be by the project manager, he should be
careful not to have too detailed or less detailed work package. A good work package should
be of average size. There is no specific format for preparing a WBSs. Different people
prepare their WBSs in different ways depending on their deliverables; hence, it may be
difficult to determine which of the WBS is good and which one is not. WBS updates need
change control. Any adjustments to the WBS change the deliverables and scope of the project
hence, it may be difficult for an individual to differentiate a well-adjusted WBS and a bad
one.
