Introduction
Program evaluation is an organized system approach where data is collected and
analyzed, and this information used to gauge the effectiveness and the efficiency of the
upcoming policies, projects and programs (Wall & Solutions, 2014, p.1). This is because it is in
the interest of the stakeholders knowing of whether what they are funding, voting for,
implementing or objecting to will produce the desired effect.
Program description
Domestic violence has become so prevalent in the society. It covers sexual, physical or
the emotional abuse, and it is done by a family member or intimate partner. It is deemed to be
now a major problem of public health (Howard et al., 2013). Daily, reported in the media and
police stations are the rising cases of domestic violence. Some of the domestic violence problems
include mental disorders, depression, eating disorders, psychosis, homelessness, anxiety, and
suicidal attempts. Women with high perinatal mental health disorder symptoms have high odds
of one time being subjected to domestic violence (Howard, 2013).
It is in this light that I choose my criminal justice evaluation program to be: Legal
Advocacy in the Domestic violence. This entails establishing a system that will attend to the
plight of the domestic violence victims and provide solutions to these issues facing them, such as
providing justice to the victims.
a) Population served
At large, this program targets the residents or citizens of the Palm Beach County, more
so, the domestic violence victims. Most victims are found to be women, followed by children
(Hanmer & Itzin, 2013, p. 24-27, 75-76). According to Howard et al. (2013), the World Health
Organization found out that most women are the victims of domestic violence, estimated to
