Type of accommodation offered
*Exchange students are required to live on
campus.
Exchange students usually stay in the Quads, International House at Maxcy
College (Maxcy), Bates-West or any of the Horseshoe apartments, although
they can be placed anywhere on-campus. All exchange students are placed
in residence halls that remain open during university breaks and that have
kitchen facilities. These options can vary based on availability. Housing is
guaranteed but preferences are not.

Meal plans
Student Card
USC offers several meal plan options at a variety of on-campus dining
locations. Meal plans are not required. Students who do not wish to
purchase a standard meal plan may use their CarolinaCard to purchase
individual meals at Campus dining facilities. For meal plan options visit:

All new students will be issued a USC student card, called the “Carolina
Card”. This card serves as a student ID and library card, and allows access
to a variety of on campus services such as dining, photocopying, health
services, bookstore, etc.

Medical Insurance**
*Insurance fees are based upon academic
year 2019-2020 and are subject to change
Compulsory medical insurance may be applied for prior to or upon arrival
on campus. 2020-2021 fees are $922* US per fall semester and $1259* per
spring/summer semester. If a student can provide proof of requisite health
insurance coverage, this fee may be waived. Insurance policies must meet
ALL coverage requirements in order to successfully waive the USC
