My Special Place

The special place I hold dear to my heart is a quiet quaint little place in Kennebunkport,

Maine, called Bufflehead Cove Inn. It is tucked away in a secluded part of the forest, but

still a short walk to town. From the breath taking views of the grounds, to the beautiful

layout of the cottage, to the delicious breakfast, and the wonderful people, this is truly an

amazing place to visit. When my wife and I got married, we went on our honeymoon to

the village of Kennebunkport, Maine. As we entered the town, we had to turn down a dirt

road. The road was nestled away in a dense forest that was full of wildlife. The forest

opened up, and we came upon a magnificent colonial house right on the mouth of the

river. The grounds were well-maintained, with pink and red rose bushes around the

property. We noticed the Inn had a huge wrap around deck overlooking the river, with a

private dock. While we were approaching the Inn, the Inn owner came outside to meet

us. Once we arrived at Bufflehead Cove Inn, the owner walked us down a gorgeous

stone pathway to our private romantic cottage. When the owner opened the door, we fell

in love with this place. The cottage was a giant window that overlooked the river. The

best part of the river cottage was the amazing bathroom. It was huge; the bathroom had

heated ceramic tiles and a two person Jacuzzi tub. Once you got in the bathroom, you

never wanted to leave the room. The king suite was very innovative; it was located up a

wooden spiral staircase that took you to the loft. From the king bed, you could lie down

and take in all the beautiful views the Inn offered. Every morning the inn owners would

personally bring us a delicious breakfast. They would let us choose whether or not we

wanted to eat in our cottage, or if we wanted to eat on the private dock where you could

see the town. I remember the first breakfast we ate was one of the best breakfast’s I

ever had. They brought us the fluffiest Belgium waffles, topped with fresh cut

strawberries, and

blueberries. It also included thick pieces of bacon, and large moist blueberry muffins.

The Inn also brought us complimentary cheese and cracker platters during the night, and

gave us the choice of red or white wine. Ever since we spent that time at Bufflehead

Cove Inn, food just hasn’t been the same. As you can tell the Bufflehead Cove Inn is a

very special place to me. From the amazing views of the grounds, to the most delicious

breakfast every morning, the Inn was great. I hope one day you get to experience this

truly amazing place to visit.
