IT is a significant component in any business under this modern world. As illustrated by
Turban (2006), there are several ways in which IT supports any business process and decision
making as well. It is through IT that information can be readily available to the company. For
example, if the company needs to know the ongoing process of the sales in the market that has
been released recently, then IT will be there to asssit. IT makes it easier for the company with
just a few click on the mouse. Customers can access the required information on the various
copmany products they need via their computers. Doing this manually consumes a lot of time
(Edwards, 2000). For instance, customers who need certain amounts ofn soda will avoid the
long ques of making orders manually at various depots. This will provide a competitive
advantage as compared to other drink companies like pepsi. Hence, the technolgy fastens the
sales and ordering processes for the company on daily basis.
IT will also provide a competitve advantage to the company if it successfully implements
strong internet connection seervices. Strong internet services will ensure that the company’s
websites which will enable customers and various stockholders to quickly access the company’s
information (Gallegos F., 2004). This will inturn enable them to make quick orders via the
internet. Thus, the openess of providing information will facilitate and boost the company’s
sales. Also investors will be attracted due to the nature the company exposes its business
transactions. IT will also be of advantage as the internet will be able display what the company’s
competitors are doing. Castells (1996) illustrates staying connected to the web will enable any
person to be updated on any new trend. Hence, Gallegos (2004) furhter stipulates that a
