The Role of Both the Private and Public Sector in Providing Security
It is crucial to consider both the strengths and weaknesses of private security and law
enforcement to form realistic expectations for collaborative partnerships. Partnerships have
numerous advantages for both parties, including solving problems in novel ways, expanding
educational opportunities, and sharing data and intelligence (Nemeth,2017). The relationship
between public and private security is a contemporary phenomenon and a modern approach to
security provisioning. The terms "private security" and "private policing" are often used
interchangeably because of the similarities between in-house security and contract security, as
well as the range of services provided by private security firms. In this paper, I will discuss the
role of both the private and public sectors in providing security.
Research Questions
1. What is the relationship between public and private security providers in the
United States?
2. What are the critical areas of security in the United States that require
collaboration, synergy, and partnership between public and private sectors of security?
3. What is the current regulatory framework in place for private security firms?

Measurement and Analysis
The key points that I will research are;
1. The expansion of private security services.
Rapid growth in the private security sector can be seen. For some, this is welcome news,
as this private security sector plays an essential role in ensuring the safety of Americans. Since
the days when they were merely on duty at night, their responsibilities have expanded. In
addition to protecting businesses, institutions, and individuals, they also safeguard information
and intellectual property. As our usage of digital technology grows, so does the danger posed by
cybercriminals. As a result, the security industry has seen an increase in IT-related job openings.
The need to safeguard people and their possessions has always existed, and it is becoming
increasingly urgent as the level of danger in the country rises.
Additionally, private security guards do a great deal of work behind the scenes. Private
investigators can conduct background checks on potential employees(Arundel, Bloch &
Ferguson,2019). They can also advise businesses on how to secure their digital infrastructure
best.
2. The relationship between the private and public security sector
Private security and policing are essential components of any country's overall security
system. Key to the framework of state institutions based on the Constitution is the state's security
system. This system is organized and functionally based on rights, duties, and responsibilities
essential to ensuring the stability and security of the state. It can have unintended consequences
if there are inconsistencies between legislative requirements and the practicality of security

provision (Martin,2018). The stipulation of adequate security is now regarded as a high priority
by citizens, and nations are ready to invest heavily to meet this demand. As evidenced by the
views and perceptions of private security providers, the rise of liberal economic systems and
globalization processes have a direct impact on the global development of private security.
How data will be analyzed and gathered.
Surveys, interviews, documents, and records will be used to gather information. Data will
be grouped into clusters before analysis takes place. Statistical software like SPSS will be sued to
analyze the data.
Incorporating information related to information and crime statistics.
Mapping technologies utilize real-time data to identify crime hotspots based on the nature
of the crime. This concentrates investigations and enhances crime prevention by identifying hot
spots and trends of activity.

crime neighborhoods. Public and private law enforcement agencies are examined in this article.

Affairs, 92(1), 43-62.
As important as it is to US and UK national cyber security plans, public-private
partnerships pose significant challenges, especially when safeguarding critical infrastructure. In
the context of cyber security, who bears responsibility and who is held accountable arises when
critical infrastructure is both privately owned and operated. Regarding cyber security, this
concern is often discussed without reference to prior research that could serve as conceptual
scaffolding. There appears to be a significant discrepancy between the expectations of the two
"partners." Even though critical infrastructure is viewed as a crucial component of national
security, the government does not want to assume responsibility for network security. However,
the private sector is reluctant to take on the burden of national cyber security or bear any
financial responsibility for it. Cybersecurity is an issue that raises questions about the ability of
states in this era of information technology to protect themselves. Acknowledging the
'partnership"s' flaws is the first step toward fixing them.
