CAUSES AND TREATMENT OF LUPUS 2
Causes and Treatment of Lupus
Lupus is known to be a condition that makes the body’s immune system to attack itself
rather than attacking the microorganisms in the body. This makes it a complicated condition as
the cause of the disease is not well known, and many researchers have tried to come up with the
causes and cure for the condition. The reason I chose this as a topic of my research is the rate at
which the disease is affecting the general population with women being at risk of contracting it.
From the estimates that have been made by researchers, 1.5 million of Americans and five
million of the total population worldwide have a type of lupus. The gender that is most affected
is women starting from the age of 15 to 44. This creates a concern to the world as the cause, and
the treatment is not well identified which made me take as the topic of research so that I can try
to identify the cause and the treatment of the disease.
Statement of problem
The study of causes and treatment of lupus will enhance my knowledge on how this
disease can be treated since it is a great concern to many researchers. The effort that the
government and the private hospitals have put with an aim to identify the cure of the best
management practices for the condition as it have been reported to occur in several parts of the
world. The statistics show that 5million of the total population in the world is suffering from the
condition where the disease is associated with premature deaths of many women. The disease
that is killing the people, with lupus is kidney failure which shoes that research is needed to
identify how lupus affects kidneys. Lupus does not kill directly but affects organs that fail to
function in the body leading to death. Current studies show that best cure and treatment for the
