A) BAB I PENDAHULUAN Infeksi virus dengue merupakan salah satu penyakit dengan vektor nyamuk ("mosquito borne disease") yang paling penting di seluruh dunia terutama di daerah tropis dan subtropis. Penyakit ini mempunyai spektrum klinis dari asimptomatis, demam dengue (DD) dan demam berdarah dengue (DBD), mencakup manifestasi paling berat yaitu sindrom syok dengue (dengue shock syndrome/DSS). Dikenal 4 serotipe virus dengue yang saling tidak mempunyai imunitas silang (infeksi dengan salah satu serotipe akan menimbulkan antibodi seumur hidup terhadap serotipe bersangkutan tetapi tidak ada perlindungan terhadap infeksi oleh serotipe lain). Sabin adalah orang pertama yang berhasil mengisolasi virus dengue. Infeksi dengue dapat disebabkan oleh salah satu dari keempat serotipe virus yang dikenal (DEN-1,DEN-2,DEN-3 dan DEN-4). In ...
