Introduction
Communication is the exchange of information between two or more participants. It
always leads to mutual understanding between the two or more participants. Communication has
been on earth for thousands of years and has improved with time. However, communication has
declined recently due to the advancement in technology. People shun from communicating as
supposed and support other modes to pass information. One-on-one communication has been
affected negatively and has raised concerns in many fields. The technology was originally meant
to improve communication and make it easy for people to communicate and pass information.
The aim has been achieved but has also affected communication in a negative manner (Morreale
et al, 2010). People can go for many days without communicating on a one-on-one basis.
Communication is vital in human lives and without communication we will not be able to
survive. The situation seems to get worse as new technological advancements are made every
day.
Effect on Education
Communication has affected many areas in our lives. Education is one of the crucial and
important human activities that have been affected by the decline. Education attracts people of
all ages so that they can be able to add something meaningful into their lives by gaining
knowledge. People also go to schools so that they can socialize and get to know each other.
Children learn how to communicate with other people through schools. A child will at first learn
how to talk with through the family members. But they learn how to speak with the people that
are immediately around them and not any other person. When they go to school, they meet with
their age mates that also are learning how to socialize. It also applies to high school and college
