CLIMATE CHANGES 2
Effects of Climate Changes on Businesses
Climate change is a global problem which has watered down the performance of many
businesses nationwide. It has become imperative for business to consider since it has been
affecting their opportunities and sustainability. In order to make it clear for the problems
associated with climate change, there are political, economic, environmental, and social
consequences associated with climate on business activities (Bartik, 2011). A good example is
unpredictable weather changes such as extreme snow melting on different business days. For this
reason, businessmen are unable to operate under the extreme weather problems. This has come
into my attention that weather has been one of the main failures in businesses among many
others. The main reason for this is customers and sellers are unable to reach market places to
operate their business. For this reason, this paper is going to survey a wide range on effects of
climate changes on businesses.
In developing countries, companies are more vulnerable as compared to the developed
ones. The main reason for this is because there have better methods of dealing with weather
changes in those countries. The effects of climate changes are mostly seen in places where there
is scarcity of food caused as a result of water. Through this, prices may increase for different
commodities hence leading to social or political challenges. In these scenarios, business would
fail to operate normally because the market places are not friendly to the operations within
market. Through this customers may end up purchasing less than the required amount. This is
one of the biggest disadvantages associated with weather changes within business organization
(Berkhout, Hertin, & Gann, 2006).
