There are various factors affecting the emergency sector such as population increase.
Also increased incidents such as fire and accidents have increased the need for a standard
incident management system that can be used in the emergency sector. This has led to the need
for a more effective mental health care trauma response system. It has also led to the need for a
more developed and sophisticated medical and ICS trauma response system. This paper discuses
reasons as to why the medical and trauma response systems are more developed compared to
mental health care trauma response systems.
The ICS are made to help hospitals and communities improve emergency management
planning and response as well as recovery activities for unplanned incidents and planned events
(Reilly and Markenson, 2011). While the mental care systems aims at helping individuals to
manage their stress and overcome traumas. The ICS is more developed since it covers the entire
emergency sector while on the other hand the mental health care deals with the mental health
section. Most of the people require the ICS service more than the mental care given that it holds
the preventive measure. The medical and trauma response systems are much towards prevention
of other medical conditions and diseases and thus need be more sophisticated that the mental
healthcare trauma response system.
