Following the great success of expanding the chain of stores to different locations, hence
the enterprise is in need of a secure storage platform that a can manage all sales, purchasing
transactions to enhance the sales rate and to cope with the marketing activity. There are
several steps and phases to be well planned in the designing process to ensure the security of
data and integrity of the organization. A platform that store information that can be retrieve
and helps in generating different levels of reports when and where they are needed. If an
analysis carried out fo every store transaction, a list of basic and standard entities which are
as follow
Customers – those who purchase goods in the store.
Suppliers– the companies who provide the goods or materials to the store
Goods – items are are on the shelf for purchasing , can be known as well as inventory
Store – is the place where all buying and selling transaction takes place
Employees – different levels of staff that deal direct and indirect with the customers
Sales – physical process of selling a product or product(s)
These would make up the core entities DBMS (Database Management System) and each
entity would have various attributes with further relevant information, which can be
displayed in a hierarchical nature.
