I do not agree that the healthcare provider should be legally required to reveal their
HIV/AIDS status. Confidentiality of HIV/AIDS status of a health care provider must be upheld.
It will eliminate discrimination regarding the provision of services. At the same time, disclosure
of the HIV/AIDS status may limit the employment along with the civil rights of the healthcare
provider. It could result in stigmatization. It can also lead to fear and HIV animus given that the
actual risk of transmission of the disease is remote in the healthcare environment.
