Introduction
The Elementary and secondary education Act was first enacted in 1965 to provide a legal
authority for the United States government to provide financial support to the k-12 education.
The primary purpose of Elementary and Secondary education Act was to help schools better
serve the special education needs have educationally deprived children. In 2002, President
George, W, Bush renamed it no Child left Behind Act (NCLB) and everyone became interested
on the governments expansive role in education. In 2007, president Barrack Obama came up
with new amendments on ESEA before his re-election.
Reauthorization is the recognition that education is prone to changes and the congress
reviews and revises Elementary and Secondary education Act every few years. The latest version
of the revision was set to expire in 2007 and it was related to No Child Left behind Act. In March
2010, the United States Department of education released a blueprint reform on the
reauthorization of the Elementary and Secondary school Education.
Policies That Needs To Be Created, Rewritten Or Eliminated
Changes in the Many researchers have determined the current NCLB to be highly flawed
and it undermines the existing state of school district structure and shifting the public dollars to
the private sector through supplemental education services (Fege, 2006).
The best policy made by the ESEA is the ability to assist in improving the achievements
of students and skills hence sealing the gaps that exists within United States. As much as the
reauthorized policies enacted in 2011 provide benefits that help in enhancing the education
system in America, the ESEA policies still face a number of flaws such as provision of more than
