Factors that affect success of the project management include meeting the customers’
expectations when customers expectation is met they tend to buy more making the project to be a
success. Meeting customers expectation may include the giving them the right quality in a
timely way and charging them amount they are ready and willing to pay for the commodity
(Heldman, 2011). Providing efficiency and effectiveness of project operation leads to an
improved performance that yields quality products in a timely way. This acts as a factor for
successful project management. When the project and the products are effectively and efficiently
managed it motivates people who are executing the project.
Failure of the project management is associated with poor planning leading to low quality
product and poor timing. This will definitely not satisfy customers in the process and therefore it
will be a great failure. Poor planning affect the execution process of the project limiting
efficiency and effectiveness of the execution of the project at hand (Kloppenborg, T2011).
Therefore, proper planning is an important aspect in success of the project management.
My group was developing an IT project with a number of members with very different
roles from each other. There were database developers, coders and testers of the systems among
other roles. The management faced some issues that lead to low quality and delaying of the
system delivery. This was based on inefficiency of work whereby the group that was sent to
collect data collected some data and left out some important information from the client. This led
to giving out a product that failed to meet the client requirement which resulted to getting back to
the drawing board to obtain all the requirements.
