PART 2
Understanding the differences between qualitative and quantitative research is crucial for
students since it has helped me understand the differences between the two research
methodologies. I had no idea the types of differences I had identified before conducting this study
on identifying the fundamental differences between the two research approaches and relating how
music impacts mood (Balkin & Kleist 2017). When writing essays, I've always struggled to figure
out what research methodology to apply in a study. When conducting various forms of research, I
have always assumed the study method without knowing the best research methodology to utilize
in the study or research.
When confronted with issues, research subjects, case studies, and other academic matters
of debate and concern, I can quickly and accurately identify and distinguish the most appropriate
research method for the study, whether qualitative or quantitative. Obtaining data for the study is
critical in quantitative research because it is the first step in the research process. The fundamental
procedure is obtaining numerical data, and collecting statistical information from a field of study
is critical to assuring the research's success (Balkin & Kleist 2017). Identifying the relationship
between work satisfaction and employee turnover is an example of a question utilized in a
quantitative study. On the other hand, qualitative research can be utilized when someone wants to
establish a hypothesis for further research, comprehend emotions and feelings, and the values and
beliefs that underpin and impact particular actions in people, to mention a few examples. The
advantages and disadvantages of particular business activity are examples of questions that can be
addressed through qualitative research.
