FIGURE 3
Figure 3 depicts the z-scores for the pre and post interventions on Go-Accuracy for
mindfulness training and the coding training groups for the Sustained Attention to Response
Task (SART). The pre-intervention z-score for the coding training group is 0 while for the
mindfulness training group it is less than 0 and a negative value. However, after the intervention,
the performance of the mindfulness training group was significantly higher compared to the
coding training group. This is evident by the post-z-values shown in figure 3. The z-value for the
mindfulness group is above +0.25 and this positive z-score indicates that the mean score for post-
intervention Go-Accuracy is higher than the mean, indicating a good performance by this group.
While the z-score for the coding training group is less than -2.5 and which means less than the
mean score for Go-Accuracy and indicates poor performance by this group for SART. The range
between the upper and lower whiskers low for coding group compared to mindfulness group in
pre scenario but after the intervention, the range of upper and lower whiskers increased for
coding-training group compared to mindfulness group. This indicates intervention was more
effective for mindfulness group as the scores outside the middle 50% increased after
intervention.
FIGURE 5
Figure 5-part a), depicts the significant differences between the coding training group and
the mindfulness group for the central executive network (CEN) and default mode network
(DMN). Part b of this figure compares the pre and post-z-scores DMN-CEN anticorrelation
between the two groups. The pre-intervention z-score for the coding group is approximately
0.025 while for the mindfulness group it is less than the score for the coding group. After the
