OBJECTIVES OF THE STUDY
It is the purpose of this case study to develop the student nurse with the necessary
attitudes and needed knowledge and competencies in the case of the patient with Pre eclampsia
Generally it aims to achieve the following:
1. Utilize the various step of the nursing process:
a. Assess the existing signs and symptoms of the patient in comparison with the
normal.
b. Identify the physiological and sociological needs of the patient and his family.
c. Formulate nursing diagnosis appropriate to the patient.
d. Plan and execute attainable nursing care for the patient.
e. Evaluate and monitor nursing care needed for the patient.
2. Provide necessary information for the making a diagnosis, both the medical and the
student nurse.
3. Discuss the information about the patients strength and weakness and how he generally
copes with the problem illness.
4. Analyze the information that portrays that patients health potential and that may also
signal the patient is at risk for incurring other illnesses or injuries.\
5. Provide basis for health teaching.
6. Discuss and explain the different diagnostic procedures done.
7. analyze and explain the different treatments and procedures given to the patient and
compare the results to the standard procedures
8. Be oriented with the different drugs, trough the drug study used in the patients case
9. To serve as the patient advocate and counselor with his concerns regarding the physical,
psychological and social implication of his case
