I have chosen for my movie analysis the genre horror and presenting my analysis on the
film, Jaws, written and directed by Steven Spielberg. This film depicts the attacks of a great
white shark on swimmers and divers who enter the ocean. The effects of the shark attacks have
threatened the future prosperity of the resorts’ tourist company. Three men tries many epic
attempts at apprehending the sharks that are killing the community’s people

. The film has been
set in a fictional place called, Amity Island and the first series of Jaws was created on this island
back in 1975.
For the two minutes of the film, there is a title sequence with suspenseful music playing
in the background. There are shots of the scene by the camera man depicting a great white shark
lurking in the waters. The music is a throbbing sound in which goes from low to high pitches and
eventually builds up faster getting those who are watching to become more fearful while in
suspense of what will happen next. The music is what indicates to the audience that there is
something in the water that is about to attack but then dramatically cuts into a beach scene where
people are playing happily in the environment. The happiness is displayed by the soft and subtle
music that is playing on the scene. The tense moment that occurred prior led into a more subtle
moment taking the audiences suspicions away
