INTRODUCTION
The face of commerce has changed in the current era. While earlier business was limited to actual
interaction between the two concerned parties, now-a-days it can be conducted online without the actual
parties meeting each other. This kind of commercial activity, conducted online on World Wide Web is
termed as E-commerce. E- Commerce has been able to find a foot for itself in the online world and is
expanding its roots. With the advent of cloud computing, a new stereotype in IT ,E-commerce has gained
a new dimension.
Cloud computing is the use of computing resources (hardware and software) which are available in a
remote location and accessible over a network (typically the Internet). The basic idea of Cloud Computing
is, the programs and data which users require, need not to be installed or kept on their own computers,
they can be executed in the large-scale group of servers in the Internet [14-16].The term cloud is derived
from the cloud-shaped symbol used to represent abstractly the complex infrastructure it contains in system
diagrams. Cloud computing entrusts remote services with a user's data, software and computation. [2]
Business organizations these days are showing an inclination towards Cloud Computing as it promises
saving in time and money. It also ensures security, a vital ingredient of a commercial transaction by
providing a safer way to store the information. Organizations look towards cloud for absorbing the
dynamically changing requirements of IT resources by the commercial websites .This study aims at
assessing the impact of cloud computing in the E-commerce sector. It is directed towards identifying the
features of cloud which can be helpful (or detrimental) in online business transactions. Identification of
such features can lead us to propose new solutions to improve the existing scenario
SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY
The study of employing cloud computing in ecommerce is promising as they have a deep impact on each
other. Cloud computing saves organizations the cost of IT infrastructure while e-commerce allows
merchants to do business without renting or buying an entity shop. The advantages which this combined
