Accredited amongst the most mysterious fictional pieces of the medieval period , the lady in
white has perhaps been the most formidable narratives that has remained unresolved over the
years. Authored by Wilkie Collins, the Novel was originally published in 1959 by All year
round publishers. An overview of the story presents a mysterious detective story that is based on
the rather innocent yet appellant actor who is involved in a theft case across London. As the
story unravels the various detectives attempt to rearrests the rather elusive woman in white who
has from the onset has alluded from one of the local asylums.
The set passage is anchored under the late 1800s contextual setting where the protagonist
supports the main character in London without knowledge of future awareness of their
interactions. As he departs in seeking for employment opportunities across London, he comes
across the woman in his masters alleged house. Based on a suspicious recall the set maiden of the
house appears familiar to an initial encounter in London. The truth is that this is the lady in white
that he once unknowingly directed while in London. In an unprecedented romantic the two fall in
love leading to a controversial affair. Upon fear of discovery, he attempts to allude on an
escapade on the next town . However the set atrocities pursue him in the newer town leading him
to further his relationship with the set woman. However the story intrigues further due to the
upon realization that the set lady was indeed imprisoned in London and she managed to escape.
The final presentation however remains unknown due to the paradoxical ending content where
no truth is revealed of the existing stalemate.
