AN EVIDENCE-BASED PLAN TO IMPROVE PATIENT OUTCOMES 2
An Evidence-Based Plan to improve Patient Outcomes
Overview
The improvement of patient outcomes is highly dependent on the evolution of the
health care industry as well as the customized technologies. Consequently, nurses,
physicians, and medical researchers should embrace and practice remote collaboration,
diagnosis and care to counter dynamic health care issues. Gradually, these methods of
practice are becoming regular to meet diverse patient needs. However, the effectiveness of
remote collaboration in health care is determined by evidence-based models and the
knowledge on how to implement them. Therefore, to deliver quality care that is cost-effective
and safe, health care professionals should develop a clear understanding of how to leverage
the principles of evidence-based practice in collaboration (Olsen & McGinnis2010).
Evidence-based remote collaboration in health care not only improves patient outcomes but
also enhances the job experience and satisfaction for the various care providers.
The Relevance and Potential Effectiveness of Evidence when making a Decision
There are various forms of evidence in health care, and they include professional
opinion, local data, formal research findings, and peer review forums (Olsen &
McGinnis2010). Health care innovation decisions are based on these avenues because the
information obtained is factual. The development of medical research and technology
continues to proliferate, and the evidence informs vital stakeholders in health care so that
they make the most effective decisions which improve health care ultimately. The lack of
evidence, therefore, increases health risks because health care practitioners will be forced to
work blindly. Evidence guides further research and continues to build the body of knowledge
that governs practice because failures can be avoided and loopholes can be filled accordingly
in the future (VanWormer, Lindquist, Robiner & Finkelstein, 2012). Thus, it is crucial to
