The management plays a vital role in the company's success because it controls all the
business operations and employee behavior. The management should consist of skilled and
qualified leaders who can formulate proper strategies to drive the firm towards success.
Workplaces issues can affect the performance of the employees and that of the entire
organization. There are various sources of workplace issues, which include managerial
practices and employee behavior. The management should try to avoid workplace issues to
prevent the negative consequences related to them. Proper leadership will enhance the firm's
ability to cope with workplace issues, thus leading to success.
Brief Description of the Organization and Job
The paper will look at the high rate of employee turnover issue at Ross Stores Inc.
Ross Stores is a chain of discount department stores based in Dublin, California, the United
States. The company was found in 1982 by Bill Isackson and Morris Ross (Zippia, n.d). The
firm operates in the retail industry by offering footwear, clothing, bedding, beauty products,
jewelry, furniture, housewares, and toys. The wide variety of products allows the firm to
serve many customers, thus increasing the demand and sales. Ross Stores operates about
1483 stores in 37 states in the United States. The company has about 88100 employees who
carry out different business operations in the stores (Cheddar, 2012). I have a close friend
who worked at Ross Stores as a marketing officer. He worked in the marketing department,
which promoted the firm's products. Their workplace duty involved creating customer
awareness to increase demand and sales of the firm's products. The close relationship with
my friend enabled me to understand the management issues at Ross Stores.
Overview of the Problem
The current rate of employee turnover is high at Ross Stores. Employee turnover
