As the baby boomer generation ages and the need for healthcare rises, the business is
positioned to expand fast. Healthcare prices and expenditures are expected to surpass inflation,
according to experts. As the healthcare system evolves, this rise in cost and job expansion will be
difficult to control (Greiner 2003). Competent healthcare managers will be in high demand to
increase teams and facilities. Healthcare leaders face several problems as technology evolves and
political instability persists. Some of the significant challenges facing today's and tomorrow's
health care organizations and health care managers include;
1. Compensation
Healthcare in the United States may be costly. There are enormous demands to reduce
healthcare expenses. Organizations and the government are looking for methods to cut healthcare
costs. Models of reimbursement are evolving as they transition from a fee-for-service to a
performance-based approach (In Austin, In Bentkover & In Chait, 2016). This implies that
suppliers can no longer rely on supplying specific services to generate income. They will be
compensated depending on the quality of community health services provided and clinical
results. Though these new performance-based models offer improved cost management, they
also present many obstacles. Healthcare providers must reconsider their business model. It
necessitates significant changes in the way businesses operate and serve their clients.
2. The shortage of workforce
Presently, there is a rising lack of competent and certified professionals in the healthcare
business. The shortage is particularly acute in these vocations, including nurses, nursing
assistants, pharmacists, and imaging specialists. Graduation rates in these disciplines are
