With the understanding of statistics, there is a growing knowledge of the importance and
significance that descriptive statistics bring to the data researching field. Continuing on the data
obtained from the Wages in 2005, descriptive statistics allow for better conclusions to be made.
There are primary factors that contribute to the dissimilar aspect of descriptive statistics. Data
analysis uses descriptive statistics to better express the relation between statistics, people, and
possible bias. That being said, there is a need to calculate the measures of central tendency,
dispersion, and skew for the data. To better visualize the information, the displaying of
descriptive statistical data using graphic and tabular techniques will be implemented. In these
graphical displays, the histogram and frequency distribution tools better portray these descriptive
statistics. Based on the skew value and histogram, the best measures of central tendency and
dispersion will be critically analyzed. Critical analysis of the selection for best measures of
central tendency will be justified accordingly.

Minimum wages laws have been in existence in the U.S., since 1912. Over years there has been
a debate over the impact of minimum wages in the U.S. A decline in wages has taken a toll on
America given that the annual income of a minimum wage earner is still substantially below the
poverty guidelines. Asking the question of whom and how an individual can benefit from an
increase in wages would be the first step in resolving the many issues in America. Many people
in society would benefit from a wage increase on a regular basis. As of 2008, 7.3 million
