practice that the professionals in the field should practice. In nursing, professionalism is mainly
focusing on the primary subject, who is the patient, and it entails one to provide quality care with
respect and responsibility to the patient. To achieve professionalism in nursing, nurses follow
their professional code of ethics strictly.
Truly understanding cultural diversity is a good professional practice that enables members in
different career paths to achieve professionalism in their field of practice. Understanding
diversity has helped in delivering services that are excellent across the board to individuals from
diverse backgrounds. Understanding cultural diversity has enhanced teamwork that improves the
skill set of an individual in the field of nursing and any other profession.
A negative attitude in any particular field of practice is not healthy in service delivery. Negative
attitude hinders the development of social skills that helps in increasing the knowledge base
within the individual and the workmates. Lack of positivity in a career hinders the achieving of
the expected results. Bad professional practice like not embracing change in service delivery,
affects the quality of the service that will be delivered.

the particular field. The code of ethics will help to ensure that quality and efficient service
delivery regardless of the working conditions and individual background.
