Normal Physical Changes in Older Adults
Aging has been an issue that is linked to various medical conditions. Aging is considered
as the element that attracts large groups of diseases towards older adults. For instance, it is
common to see an elderly adult being diagnosed with chronic conditions, mental loss, or vision
loss. The analysis of the issues connected to aging can be described through physical and
physiological conditions. Physical changes can be seen as getting wrinkles, reduced strength,
vision loss, hearing problems, weakness of bones, and decreased muscle mass, among others.
Physiological changes can be evident to elderly adults due to their memory loss, increased
depression, decreased renal function, unresponsive nervous system, cardiac issues, reduced blood
flow, some body parts stop functioning, and reduced immune system (Boltz et al., 2016). The
physiological problems related to aging have been analyzed based on the examination of
different older adults who were willing to share their experiences. Therefore, the assessment has
been based on the outcomes of the examination process and the analysis of physiological
processes in the aging population.
Normal Physiological Changes of Aging
Aging is different depending on the life of an individual. The aging process can affect
individuals differently and can be linked with the past life of a patient. Aging will tend to affect
the functionality of body organs. Aged people do not have the same energy they had in their
youthful days. The most common physiological change to an aging patient is loss of vision
(Whitbourne, 2012). Most people will complain about their loss of vision and would require
glasses for reading or watching anything. Also, osteoarthritis is a common change in the aging
process whereby the patients or the elderly individuals will report pains in different parts of their
bodies. For example, osteoarthritis affects most joints, causes back pains, and wears down the
