LOGISTICS AND SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT 2
Executive summary
Logistic performance priorities help shape the prosperity of all the organizational goals and
stratagems. In the Dominos case, the Inventory control strategies prompted the company to
integrate its ERP system with the new replenishment and forecasting software program. From the
year 2010 to March 2017, Dominos share price outperformed all the vaunted tech companies such
as Apple, Amazon, and Google. Correspondingly, since 2015, Dominos has substantially
outperformed its competitors, including McDonald's, Pizza Hut parent corporation, Papa Johns,
and Restaurant Brands International (Raindallreilly.com, 2015). While the entireness of this
outperformance may not only be ascribed to digital innovation, Dominos' dedication to technology
is an evident differentiator from its competitors. After it's stock price bottomed out in 2008,
Dominos audaciously pursued the multi-prolonged stratagem to initiate the turnaround. With
efforts to rehabilitate their brand, Dominos announced the new pizza recipe and menu.
Concurrently, Dominos started investing in digital capacities, which would facilitate it in
delivering its products in innovative manners. Nevertheless, to execute these digital innovations,
this fast-food chain company established more dynamic IT functions that could internally develop
these new digital innovations (Christopher, 2016). Most importantly, the executive support for the
organization’s digital migration guaranteed that their newly-sanctioned marketing counterparts
and IT departments were capable of collaborating in quick iterative procedures. With the
placement of this digital foundation, Dominos sprouted as a digital pioneer in the fast-food chain
industry. Later in 2008, it launched the Dominos "Pizza tracker" that helped in tracking or
monitoring the progression of their online orders by using their website (Mangan & Lalwani,
2016). Consequently, in 2012, it launched its highly ranked iPhone applications, rationalizing the
client’s path to making purchases.
