Recommendations to CHAIRMAN CAO of FUYAO GLASS COMPANY
Fuyao Glass Company was founded in china in 1987. The company has
been much profitable for the last two succeeding years until 2020 when it started experiencing
great challenges (Ross, 2019). Previously, the company has been known to be capable of
handling its challenges but of late there are out of control. Currently, the company’s
management is working to preserve their initial successful work force. Therefore, as a change
agent, I held a consultative meeting with the chairman, Cao and give my recommendations
concerning the productivity and unionization of the company.
Concerning the productivity of Fuyao Glass Company I suggested various
measures which should be undertaken. The company should be able to minimize the
manufacturing waste by applying effective inventory management system .This will maintain the
company’s product quality high and avoid overproduction. They should be dedicated to planned
maintenance by ensuring that all operators are trained on all repairs procedures of the company,
frequently scheduled preventive maintenance, and immediate handling of breakdowns. The
employees should also be provided with appropriate tools and equipment to perform their
responsibilities effectively and on time. For example, providing personal protective gear and
hearing protections. In addition, proper training should be done for all workers when new
machinery is installed in the company (Gawley, & Laurier, 2020). Working place conditions
should also be improved by ensuring heating and air conditioning systems are working
effectively. For that reason, they will work in comfortable environment and there will be no
distractions thus any time wastage. The company should opt for latest and updated technology
which will increase processing speed and quality, minimize faults, and assist in planning,
monitoring, inventory and workflow. Lastly the productivity can be boosted by supply chain
effectiveness by ensuring raw materials arrive in time, low transportation cost, and review the
measures to be eliminate those not working for the company.
Teamwork is the backbone of every successful company. Therefore, I
recommend Fuyao Glass Company to embrace following strategies to enhance teamwork among
employees. An Effective communication between the management and the workers is likely to
retain teamwork in the company. The management should ensure there are appropriate platforms
for their interaction with employees, ensures clear communication, and also learn to listen other
people’s opinions. Recognizing employee’s efforts and rewarding them can also motivates and
influences them to work in a team (Osuigwe, 2016).Showing appreciation would create a
friendly association among employees and the management. The company should also learn to
handle their staffs with their differences as everyone has different strengths, passions, and
weakness. Moreover, strong teamwork should be facilitated by focusing on individuals strength
and bring together those with common skills to perform certain task. The management should
also include employees in the leadership. The workers should have representatives in the
leadership so that their grievances can be aired.
In conclusion, by fuyao Glass Company implementing these strategies can
retain their successful workforce. The improvement of productivity and embracement of
teamwork is likely to minimize the challenges being encountered by the company today.
