HEALTH CARE ISSUES 2
Limited Access to Healthcare
I choose to research the topic of inadequate health care access. The issue is quite a
problem in different countries where consumers or patients do not have enough access or
facilities that aid in health care. Many patients, especially in third world countries, do not have
suitable transport systems to facilitate movement to health care facilities, especially during an
emergency. My interest in this topic is from the fact that I have seen people suffer due to a lack
of enough health care access and facilities.
In some cases, the healthcare services are too expensive for some people to afford; hence,
they end up losing lives out of curable and preventable illnesses. I have experienced the issue
where one of my friends from a remote area paralyzed due to a lack of a health facility near their
home area after suffering from a short illness. The incident increased my interest in the topic, and
I felt I would like to campaign against such preventable issues in society.
Scholarly Peer-Reviewed Journals
One of the peer-reviewed journals in this topic is: Measuring healthcare access and
quality to improve health in populations. The database used for the same is NCBI. To search for
this article, I used the Google criteria, where I searched for health care access journals.
Another journal is on limited health care access among deaf people.to search for this articles
content I checked up on google scholar. Kuenburg, A., Fellinger, P., & Fellinger, J. (2016).
Health care access among deaf people. The Journal of Deaf Studies and Deaf Education, 21(1),
1-10. The database used is academic oxford.
