Over time, our organization has found great success through their new cancer treatment
drugs. As a business development manager, that is planning the organization’s exit strategy, we
shall continue to gather and analyze data to include in the strategic recommendations or any
roadblocks that can affect the plan of selling the organization. Based off the interest of
prospective buyers for our organization, we have already begun planning for the acquisition
process. However, sue to recent economic and market instability, the buyer is now reconsidering
its acquisition proposal. Since the buyer is reconsidering, we have decided that an opportunity to
re-evaluate our strategy would be ideal to ensure what our options are in case of a setback. To do
this, we will identify alternative scenarios and draft a contingency plan and perform some
preliminary research that could help in the acquisition analysis and help identify alternative
buyers in the event the current buyer backs out. In this report we will identify which North
American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code would relate to the oncology,
pharmaceutical, or medicines sectors and identity the top three organizations we believe that
could be competitors for this industry.
One North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code that will help our
organization find potential buyers is the pharmaceutical preparation manufacturing code 325412.
This code focuses of on the preparation of pharmaceuticals in the industry. This is very critical
for our organization because of the field we are in. We will be able to use this code by
identifying any organizations we feel would benefit with the merger of our organization. There
are three top competitors in this industry for this NAICS code. The top three competitors are: (1)
Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corporation, (2) Eli Lilly and Company, and (3) Bristol-Myers Squibb
Company. I chose these three organizations because they are the top businesses by annual sales
