Understanding that we are not defined by our job titles is an important part of developing a healthy and sustainable

your classmates’ posts by Monday, Day 7. (You must create one initial post and at least two responses, for a
minimum of three posts for this discussion.)
John Holland listed the types of personality traits, characteristics and matching careers.
I have taken a past class that had required a questionnaire be answered and it
concluded the type of personality you were closest to. I am equally social and
conventional. I enjoy being around people for the most part and like to work with others
to reach a common goal. The conventional side of me cannot stand chaos or
disorganization. Having a drawn out plan and a desired goal helps me get through a
task quicker.
After having my son I decided to join the Marine Corps to better support him. It
was along the lines of being a part of an organization that stands for being organized
and big on leadership. My future career goal is to retire and work with an organization
that I continue to mentor individuals on leadership and obtain my degree in
Organizational Management. .
I think career satisfaction can definitely impact self image. If you are unhappy
with your job you see yourself as unsatisfied in other areas of your life as well. When
someone is unhappy they tend to let themselves go or take it out on other individuals in
their lives. If you are happy at work with what you do it will spill over to all aspects of
your life. After all most of a person’s day is spent at work.
