Employee Development plan: Industrial Engineering Manager
An employee development plan refers to an action plan which is designed to enhance the
abilities and knowledge of an individual. It is most associated to career planning and such activities
as performance management (Davis, 2015). Employee development plans can be used to help one
plan meaningful steps on their way to long term goals.
Being an industrial engineers my main focus involves integrating machines, information
and people. My development plan will be executed with a period of three years. The development
plan will help in improving my skills, experience and knowledge as far as my major is concerned.
Therefore, I aim on providing a systematic approach to not only improve but also streamline
efficiency and productivity.
One of my significant goals is to make work easier, faster, safer and more rewarding. By
the end of the three years I intend to come up with a method by which businesses will evaluate
their processes and make attempts to improve them. I will focus on optimization.
I understand that industrial engineering essentially involves puzzle solving and making
organizational resources fit together. I will strive to attain specific management skills to enhance
production output in my workplace. I will strive to enhance my project planning skills to manage
the use of machinery to meet the project deadlines. I will research on the better ways of making
the process, products or services easier and faster. I will strive to execute strategic as well as
technical solutions to do things efficiently and in a less expensive way. The following is my
employee development plan as an industrial engineering manager;
