NURSING DISCUSSION 2
In chapter 27, according to Marilyn (2015), nursing can be described as being spiritual, relational
and holistic caring that majorly seeks the good of oneself and others in the society. Therefore, from
Marilyn’s theory, it can be concluded that nursing goes hand in hand with caring thus making caring the
foundation of nursing. We can also conclude from the theory that love yields a liable ethical life that
enables nurses to express a concrete action of caring in their lives. Thus, nursing aims at the activities of
caring through the ever-changing cultural contexts of organizations, relationships, and communities. On
the other hand, in chapter 28 Troutman-Jordan’s theory is effective to the clinicians since it provides an
insight into caring for different elderly patients (Troutman, 2015).). Troutman’s theory argues that since
nursing of the age is vital it, therefore, requires flexible and adaptable caring programs that respond to
changes in the functioning and health of the elderly people. We can thus, summarize Troutman’s theory
by concluding that a personal desire of aging well really contributes to the ways to cope with changes that
come with aging. This will, therefore, contribute to the quality of life that one will live at an aging period.
