The results are reasonable. The presence of white precipitates indicates there is
halides. Absence of white precipitates signifies absence of halides. All the results were
consistent as per the reactivity rules.
5. Explain whether or not the positive and negative results seem reasonable for HCl test. Do
you have any results that do not seem consistent with the reactivity guidelines and
solubility rules?
Both positive and negative results were reasonable. All carbonates produced bubbles
when they were reacted with HCl while the rest did not.
