CAUSES AND EFFECTS OF UNEMPLOYMENT ON AN INDIVIDUAL OR FAMILY 2
Introduction
In the United States, the unemployment rate measures the number of people vigorously
searching for a job as a percentage of the labor force. Job Performance, mismatch of jobs,
economic issues, lack of experience, etc. are the major causes of unemployment and resulting
effects are economic, psychological (stress, fear, anxiety, depression, etc). The purpose of this
paper is to present the major cause of unemployment and its effects (on both the individual and
their family) to the unemployment agency as a public relations specialist.
In this paper, the major cause of unemployment is the availability of jobs compared to
people who are willing to work and lying off employees or retiring them at the early stage of
their job is the second cause of unemployment. This cause generates economic effects on
individuals and Government and also on the families of the unemployed individual.
Unemployment affects considerably all aspects of an individual’s life and according to their
personal state of affairs; it is also expected to impact the life of other family members.
